Manchester United's Javier Hernandez is set for his first start of the season in place of the injured Danny Welbeck. With Vidic and Rio missing Evans and Jones have done a fine job and it will be interesting to see if Ferguson keeps those two in the lineup with the likely return of Ferdinand.
Bolton's new signings David Ngog, Gael Kakuta and Dedryck Boyata are all in contention to make their debuts. Stuart Holden has been playing for the Wanderers reserves as he continues his comeback from the knee injury he sustained in March, but is unlikely to feature at the weekend.
