Manchester United have confirmed a third new recruit of the summer after reaching an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of David de Gea. De Gea passed a medical this week and has agreed a five-year deal with the club.

David De Gea set to complete transfer to Man Utd

David de Gea is set to complete his £18.3 million move to Manchester United after arriving for a medical. The deal takes United's summer spending to more than £50m following the the signing of defender Phil Jones from Blackburn and winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa.

The highly-rated goalie has helped his country to tournament glory and is now reportedly closing on becoming Edwin van der Sar's long-term successor, a keeper he has always been compared to.
