Manchester United duo Rio Ferdinand and Rafael are expected to return from injury, but Michael Carrick continues to struggle with an ankle problem.

Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra, and Nemanja Vidic are also expected to return to the starting line-up after sitting out the trip to Southampton.

Dimitar Berbatov also sat out Saturday's FA Cup win at Southampton, although whether Wayne Rooney will partner him in attack in the match is open to debate given Javier Hernandez has scored in his last two games.

Sir Alex Ferguson "When you are down there in the Premier League it's not easy to get out of it. But two victories can make a difference and they are getting their squad back after injuries"

Strategy: Ferguson is set to make huge changes from the side that beat Southampton. Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Rafael are all set to return as is van der Sar, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney. Berbatov has scored five times in his last two appearances and will be looking to add to that impressive tally against Villa's porous looking defence.
